“And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that (Jesus) answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’” – Mark 12:28-30
Thank God for His grace! How do we love God with everything that we are? It is a lot easier said than done, yet it is the greatest commandment of God. The truth is He alone deserves it. After all He is the One who created us. He is the One who offers us a restored relationship with Him and eternal life through His son Jesus Christ. He is worthy of all of our devotion. Again thank God for His grace through Jesus Christ because I have failed to meet the mark.
At The Haven, we want to allow you the opportunity to experience God and see just how good He is. We don’t expect perfection, rather we strive to create an environment that is safe to grow in your love for your Creator.
(The Christians) devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. – Acts 2:42
“For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them…” – Romans 12:4-6
At The Haven we love theology (the study of God), but we do not pretend to have everything figured out. We realize that in a lot of ways we are still a mess. We are a group of people from all walks of life, but a common bond in our Lord and Savior. Therefore we purpose to be a safe place to question, seek and find the truth and abundant life that comes through Jesus Christ. We do this through weekly small groups that meet in a home environment to encourage and strengthen one another through fellowship, prayer and study of God’s Word.

(Jesus said to the righteous) “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.” – Matthew 25:35-36
We want you to find your purpose in God’s world. God has put us all here for a reason. Instead of leaving us to blindly walk around looking for that grand purpose, God gave us our purpose in the Bible through the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. The Great Commandment was given by Jesus and can be found in Matthew 22:35–40, Mark 12:28–34, and Luke 10:25–28. In short, it is love God and love people. This is first and foremost how we bring glory to God and find our purpose.
Jesus also gave us an outlet to loving people through the Great Commission. This can be found in Matthew 28:16–20, Mark 16:14–18, Luke 24:44–49, Acts 1:4–8, and John 20:19–23. It is the commission to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the world, beginning with our local community. God has empowered each of us with gifts and talents to carry out that purpose.
At The Haven we want to create an environment where you can discover your purpose and get plugged in to ministry (2 Corinthians 5:18-20; 1 Peter 2:9). We envision ministry not just being done by the church leadership, but the church body as a whole.
At The Haven, we believe Jesus is the center of everything. We want to be a community where people can ask honest questions, grow in their understanding of Scripture, experience genuine relationships, and learn to follow Jesus together.
We hold firmly to the essentials of the Christian faith while extending grace and humility in areas where faithful Christians may disagree.
In essentials, unity. In nonessentials, liberty. In all things, love.
We believe in one God who eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator of all things, perfectly good, loving, holy, and just.
We believe Jesus is the Son of God, fully God and fully human. He lived a sinless life, revealed the Father, died for our sins, and rose bodily from the dead. Through Him, God is reconciling the world to Himself. Jesus is Lord, and He will return to make all things new.
We believe the Holy Spirit is present and active in the world today, drawing people to Jesus, dwelling within believers, transforming our lives, and empowering us to love and serve others.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our trustworthy authority for faith and life. We seek to understand Scripture in its historical and literary context, with Jesus Christ at the center of its story.
We believe every person is created in God’s image and has inherent worth and dignity. Sin has broken our relationship with God, with one another, and with creation. We all need God’s grace, forgiveness, and restoration.
We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, made possible through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We receive this gift through faith in Jesus, responding to His invitation with repentance and trust. Salvation is not something we earn, but something God freely offers.
We believe the Church is the family of God, made up of all who belong to Jesus. We gather to worship, grow in faith, encourage one another, and serve our neighbors. Every believer has a place and a purpose in the body of Christ.
We believe baptism is a public expression of faith in Jesus, identifying with His death and resurrection. We celebrate communion as a remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice, a participation in our shared life in Him, and a proclamation of His coming kingdom.
We believe God’s kingdom has come through Jesus Christ and will be fully realized when He returns. As followers of Jesus, we are called to live as citizens of His kingdom today, demonstrating His love, justice, mercy, and grace.
We believe Jesus will return, the dead will be raised, evil and death will be defeated, and God will renew creation. Our ultimate hope is eternal life with God in the new heavens and new earth.
