The Haven is based on the idea of simplicity in Jesus Christ. Jesus said “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:25-30). We want to create an environment that is safe to do so. “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!” (Psalm 34:8)
It isn’t a church that is watered down in theology. The Haven is Biblical first and foremost and Jesus Christ is the center of that theology. We believe that Christ is found in a person, not in a program. We also believe that the church is found in the people and not in the building. Therefore, four walls do not define who we are, Jesus Christ does. “Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all” (Colossians 3:11).
The Haven is a simple church on a mission to love God, grow together, and change the world through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
