As a father, my children are mine and I will never disown them. They are totally accepted by me and nothing can change that. However, when they are ugly to others it grieves me. When they love others it makes me smile from ear to ear. The same can be said about our Heavenly Father. I’m glad someone has written about this. The answer to legalism isn’t a distorted view of grace. It’s understanding our ‘position’ in Christ that through faith can never change our status with God on the one hand, but also understanding our ‘relationship’ with God as a loving Father who cares for, rejoices in, grieves for and even disciplines his children for their good.
